21 July 2026: International Compliance Association (ICA) has announced a package of fully funded scholarships to support members of the Global Learning Community, a network of over 340 members across 60 countries working to end human trafficking and modern slavery.
The scholarships, announced at the Asia Region Anti-Trafficking Conference (ARAT) in Chiang Mai, Thailand, will provide two places on the ICA Certified Financial Crime Investigator course and ten further places across ICA's Certificate and Specialist Certificate courses.
The initiative was proposed by BC Tan, a member of ICA's APAC Advisory Board, who has worked extensively with anti-trafficking organisations. Mr. Tan made the announcement in person at the conference and has also offered to personally teach the programmes.

Financial crime and compliance training exists to protect people, not just institutions. The organisations within the Global Learning Community are working at the sharpest end of that protection, often without access to the kind of formal training our industry takes for granted. Supporting them with these scholarships is a small but meaningful way for ICA to put that principle into practice.
Applications will be assessed against criteria including the relevance of the applicant's role, organisational need, a commitment to apply the learning within their organisation, and regional spread across the Global Learning Community. Applications will be reviewed by ICA's APAC Advisory Board, who will notify successful applicants directly.
