ICA Code of Conduct

All registered users of the online learning hub are required to read and adhere to the following guidelines before logging in for the first time.

To ensure the best possible experience for all our members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation. The following explains what we expect from you as a member.

Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with these important guidelines. If you have any questions, please do get in touch. To preserve an environment that encourages positive conversation between professionals, we reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate ICA membership of anyone who violates these rules.
  • Take legal proceedings for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach.
  • Disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as ICA feels is reasonably necessary.

Do's

  • Respect others and avoid excessive criticism or negativity. Remember that others are entitled to their own views and beliefs.
  • Respect intellectual property. Post content that you have personally created or have permission to use or ensure that the content creator is clear.
  • Use the communication features to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals.
  • Ensure all communications are solely for the purpose of professional development and networking.

Don'ts

  • Use defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • Copy or forward emails or private messages without permission or include any materials that contain viruses or other programs that might disrupt ICA’s systems.
  • Directly promote products and services, either by the messaging or communities' features.

Online Community Group Etiquette

By joining and using the ICA online community, you agree that you have read and will follow our rules and guidelines. Posting, responding, sharing and/or uploading content will be aligned to the core principle of the community: to support the professional development and networking of all members within the community.

Online communities will be set up to cover a range of different interests, giving you the opportunity to engage with like-minded professionals.

  • State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
  • Do not send administrative messages, such as 'remove me from the list’, to the group. Instead, use the profile area to change your settings or to remove yourself from a list.
  • All the dos and don'ts from above still apply.
  • Operational questions for ICA should be directed to info@int-comp.org
