International Compliance Association (ICA), the leading professional body for the global regulatory and financial crime compliance community, is launching AI training courses and education resources with leading compliance technology firm Zango AI, which deploys AI agents for risk and compliance in financial services, to close the AI skills gap for compliance professionals.

AI is the most in-demand technical skill for 94 per cent of financial services firms, according to research from the Financial Services Skills Commission, however many businesses lack dedicated Compliance AI training programmes and employees often only complete mandatory courses when they are offered.

Through the partnership, Zango AI will develop and deliver practical training courses drawing on insights from its work deploying AI agents for risk and compliance activities such as horizon scanning, policy & controls gap analysis and financial promotions review, while the ICA will promote the programme across its global training and membership networks.

The training from the ICA and Zango focuses on practical governance, risk and applications for AI, helping compliance professionals to better understand and implement AI in regulated environments.

Ritesh Singhania, CEO of Zango AI, said: “AI and agentic systems have huge potential to improve productivity and strengthen compliance across financial services, but there is a skills gap - many teams haven’t received practical training on how to use or govern them. This partnership with the ICA is about equipping compliance professionals to adopt AI responsibly, based on our real-world experience of deploying AI agents across financial institutions.”

Rob Phillipson, Managing Director of ICA commented: “ICA’s role is to raise professional standards across compliance and, with AI top of mind across industry, our training courses with Zango will be central to responsible AI adoption within financial services. ICA members will benefit from a series of training courses, educational resources and workshops, enhanced by Zango’s expertise in AI-driven compliance technology, helping them to be confident and considered with AI as demand continues to rise.”

Members of the ICA will also be given access to a pilot version of Zango’s platform, allowing them to gain hands-on experience with AI agents that have specifically been trained on financial services regulations to support activities such as horizon scanning and policy gap analysis, with full transparency, governance and auditability.
