Expanding access to financial services is an important priority for governments, regulators and financial institutions. At the same time, organisations must prevent money laundering and terrorist financing while maintaining effective AML and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) controls. The challenge is getting the balance right.

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has reinforced that financial inclusion and effective AML/CFT measures should work together through a proportionate, risk-based approach. The question for many organisations is no longer why financial inclusion matters, but how to expand access while managing financial crime risk and meeting regulatory expectations.

Join our expert panel as they discuss:

  • What a proportionate, risk-based approach looks like in practice, and where organisations commonly get the balance wrong.
  • Practical ways to remove unnecessary barriers to financial services while maintaining effective customer due diligence, identity verification and ongoing monitoring.
  • Real examples of how organisations are expanding financial inclusion, embracing innovation and meeting regulatory expectations without compromising financial crime controls.

This live webinar will explore how organisations can apply the risk-based approach in practice, sharing practical lessons and real-world examples to help expand access to financial services while maintaining effective and proportionate AML/CFT controls.
