Why did Co-op contact us?
The Co-op wanted us to deliver an in-house anti money laundering training programme for the Co-op in Manchester for a group of 136 delegates.
The aims were to ensure everyone had basic awareness of the subject matter and to educate individuals on the bank’s learning objectives.
What was the solution?
We developed a bespoke programme involving the ICA Certificate in Anti Money Laundering with a view to some, if not all employees enrolled on the course, to progress to the advanced certificate.
As part of a tailored delivery approach, staff were trained on a wider awareness level and the implications of their day-to-day role in mitigating these risks to the bank.
We developed a bespoke learning management system for employees, which also provided a forum for the group to engage in discussion and promote collaboration of key takeaways within the bank.
The head of financial crime – along with a team of 16 – completed the ICA diploma, aimed at equipping the team with the skills to identify risks and to implement effective systems and controls within the bank.
What were the results?
The standard of delivery across both programmes attracted overwhelmingly positive feedback from delegates, with some participants commenting:

As a result of this feedback, a further 200+ employees were identified to take part in the following year’s intake.
We developed a learning programme covering the subject of sanctions for the Co-op’s foreign payment teams with a view to embed ICA’s qualifications into the company’s annual training requirements.
