David Jackman was at the forefront of developing financial services regulation, arguing for a greater emphasis on corporate ethics and culture as Head of Ethics at the Financial Services Authority (FSA). He was responsible for designing and introducing the FSA training and competence regime after similar roles in IMRO and SFA.
He was instrumental in establishing the Securities Institute (now CISI) and became the first Chief Executive of the Financial Services Skills Council and then Visiting Professor and Director of the London Financial Academy. In 2004, David extended his interests to corporate governance and consumer outcomes, forming the Ethics Foundation which offers the Ethics Mark, and currently holds a series of Non-Executive Directorships. As Chairman of the British Standards Institution (BSI) Committee for Sustainable Communities, he is the primary author of the national standards for sustainable development (BS8900 -8904) and the international standard ISO 37101.
David lectures, researches and writes internationally, particularly in Singapore for ICT, and his recent publication, The Compliance Revolution (Wiley 2015) is becoming a standard text. David graduated from Keble College, Oxford, and Queens, Cambridge, and is a Visiting Fellow of Cambridge Judge Business School.
