30 April 2019
The International Compliance Association (ICA), the leading professional body for the global regulatory and financial crime compliance community, today announced that Helen Langton has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer effective from 1 May 2019. Bill Howarth who has been acting CEO and President will retain the position of President.
Helen previously served as Managing Director of International Compliance Training (ICT), which will be known as ICA Commercial Services with effect from 1 May 2019. The move is in line with ICA’s commitment to ensuring a seamless customer experience and to streamline how ICA delivers its qualifications, training and membership services.
In her new role, Helen will oversee ICA and lead it into a renewed global expansion drive, focussing on establishing a footprint in new and strategic markets and further enhancing the association’s position as the organisation of choice for the global regulatory and financial crime compliance community.
Having joined International Compliance Training in 2007, Helen has played an instrumental role in both ICT and ICA’s geographical expansion, product innovation and operational efficiency, as well as growing the business in the MENA and APAC regions. Through her work with industry stakeholders, commercial partners and key suppliers, Helen has developed and implemented a value-add strategic approach in which all those connected with the creation and delivery of knowledge, consistently deliver on the proposition of high-quality, relevant and timely content.
Helen commented, “We have listened to our students and our clients and we have been working with key industry stakeholders to ensure that simplicity and accessibility are at the very heart of our focus. We want to continue to improve the learner and member experience by offering all of our services under the single ICA banner. Building on the success we have achieved to date, we will continue to develop ICA’s reputation as the leading professional membership and awarding body globally, representative of the modern compliance professional and the wider compliance community.
“We plan on being more geo-specific, building strong communities across the globe and continuing to be relevant to regulatory and financial crime compliance professionals today and tomorrow. ICA will continue to grow and evolve to meet the needs of all those connected to the compliance agenda, whether that is seasoned compliance practitioner, newly qualified data analyst, or experienced learning and development executive.”
Bill added, “I am delighted to be working even more closely with Helen as we continue to push the compliance agenda forward, inspiring, enabling and educating our students and members to be the best they can be and helping to create the compliance leaders of the future.”
