ICA Specialist Certificate in Combating the Financing of Terrorism

Overview

This brand new course provides a foundation knowledge of the meaning of terrorist financing and proliferation, an introduction to the legal frameworks associated with global counter-terrorist financing strategy and an overview of the key terrorist financing threats and risks. You will learn about the nature of and motivation behind terrorism; ways in which funds for terrorist organisations are gathered and processed; the risks organisations face in relation to the financing of terrorism; how organisations can identify terrorist financing risks; the relationship between money laundering and terrorist financing; and how a risk-based approach can be used to manage terrorist financing risks.

  • New/recently appointed entrants in the field of Anti-Money Laundering (aml) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) or those who wish to learn more about CFT and its relationship with money laundering.

Entry requirements

The course is specifically designed to be detailed yet accessible. Prior subject matter knowledge will be useful, but is not essential.

To get the most from the course, a good standard of English is required.



How will you be assessed?

At the end of the online course, you will take a one-hour, multiple choice closed book examination.

Specialist Certificate courses count as 15 hours of ICA CPD credit.
