ICA is the trusted partner for you and your organisation.
ICA provides five different levels of individual membership. Whether you are just starting out in your career, have gained an ICA professional qualification or are an experienced practitioner, there is a level appropriate for you. Please note: Membership of ICA is compulsory for anybody wishing to study towards an ICA certification or qualification.
I’ve passed my qualification, when can I upgrade my membership?
Once you have received your final qualification results at the advanced certificate level or above, you will be eligible to be upgraded to the next membership level. You can apply to upgrade here.

Is there a time limit to becoming a Member?
No, you can join at any time and you can rejoin if you no longer have a membership that you previously held. Please click here for further information.
How should I submit the application form?
All application forms need to be submitted via the online form.
Do I receive a discount if I sign up for more than one year?
Yes, please refer to the Membership fees page for the two and three-year fees.
Do I need to have any formal qualfications to become a member?
No. Our Affiliate membership grade requires no qualifications, so you can begin receiving membership benefits immediately. Holding ICA qualifications from the advanced level onwards provides access to higher levels of membership.

CPD is continuing professional development. We require members to complete a minimum of 35 hours per membership year. There are many ways you can gain CPD. As an ICA member you have access to a wide range of articles, publications, videos and a library of online learning (that are regularly updated) making it easy to keep up to date with latest developments and initiatives. The ICA CPD learning centre is designed in a way that allows each person to individually filter their view of the content based on their area of interest.
It also provides general and jurisdiction specific technical learning as well as a huge menu of soft skills learning that can support their wider responsibilities - all in bitesized pieces.
I let my membership lapse; do I have to take another qualification to rejoin?
No, you can rejoin at any time here https://www.int-comp.org/become-a-member, or please email membership@int-comp.org with your current contact details and they will arrange an invoice for you.

What happens after I have completed my online application?
As soon as we have your application and it has been processed, you will be sent a welcome email, and you can start using your ICA membership benefits. This is usually completed the same day but can take up to 72 hours to process if received over the weekend.

Membership is a rolling 12-month subscription. You can join at anytime during the year and fees are for 12 months from the date you join as a member.
Membership can be renewed online when you are within 30 days of renewal. You will also receive renewal reminders by email prior to renewal.
How do I upgrade my membership?
Once you have received your qualification results, you will be eligible to be upgraded to the next membership level. You will not be automatically upgraded so you will need to apply to upgrade here Contact Membership at membership@int-comp.org if you have any questions regarding upgrades.
My employer will pay for my membership but they need an invoice. Do I have to submit payment first?
We do request that the relevant fee is sent via the online application form. A receipted invoice will be provided. The majority of members will pay the fee by card and claim it back through their expenses process, however, you must check this with your employer. If you have any questions about employer-funded membership please contact membership@int-comp.org
What commitments do I have as an ICA member?
All members are expected to uphold professional standards within the compliance profession by adhering to the ICA code of conduct for compliance professionals. At higher levels of membership, there are also commitments to complete Continuous Professional Development (CPD) hours.
How do I become a Fellow of the ICA?
"Fellow membership is eligible for those who: have completed an ICA Professional Postgraduate Diploma qualification; for those who have been a Professional Member (MICA) for five consecutive years and have circa 10 years of practical experience at a senior level; for those who qualify for the experiential Fellow route find out more here.

Yes, there is a member directory only available to ICA members.

Do I automatically become an ICA professional member on completion of an ICA Diploma?
Once you have received your exam results, you will be eligible to be upgraded to the next membership level. You will not be automatically upgraded so you will need to apply to upgrade here.

I can't log in to my member area what should I do?
Try the password reset on the log in screen, If this does not work please conatct membership@int-comp.org or call (0)121 362 7747 as your memebrship may have lapsed.
I have updated my details online but they have not changed on my profile
Profile updates are processed by the admin team and do not change online immediately. This can take up to 72 hours to show on your profile.
How do I change my email address?
You can submit a change of details on your member profile once logged in. The admin team will change your details and update your email address once received.
