Using Zoom for ICA Virtual Classroom participation

ICA values the privacy and security of our students and members and therefore take all appropriate precautions to ensure that our Virtual Classrooms are secured.

Our platform of choice for our virtual classrooms is Zoom.

The details below explain how ICA secure your Virtual Classrooms via Zoom.

What we do to secure the meeting:

  • Create a unique meeting ID that is automatically generated when scheduling the meeting
  • Set a unique meeting password
  • Only share the meeting ID and password with students registered on the Virtual Classroom
  • Require all participants to accept the notification when recording Virtual Classrooms before the session begins
  • Include a waiting room and check all participants have been invited before admitting them into the Virtual Classrooms therefore your full name will be required when attending a session (e.g. John Smith and not John's iPad)

You can be assured, we will not:

  • Re-use the same meeting ID or password for multiple classrooms
  • Allow participants to join a meeting before the host (to avoid any sharing of files or unauthorised admittance)
  • Ask anyone to share their screen unless permission has been granted in advance
  • Record any Virtual Classroom without permission from each student involved
  • Share the recorded session with anyone other than the students on the same cohort
