Ekaterina Pustovalova is President of ICS, ICA’s partner in Russia and the CIS, and a Fellow of the ICA. She initiated the development of compliance (and later GRC) as a discipline and core element of organisational strategy in these territories. Her international experience and local expertise helped establish ICA qualifications as the de facto standard for compliance professionals at all levels in the region. In addition, Ekaterina regularly delivers a range of projects for both Russian and international clients in the financial services sector and other regulated industries on the development, implementation and appraisal of compliance management system (CMS).
Prior establishing ICS, Ekaterina worked in senior positions in government and private structures across multiple sectors including energy, precious stones, manufacturing and consulting. She has extensive expertise in business strategy planning and implementation; investor relations; business development; IPO project management; M&A; change management; designing and implementing internal processes and procedures; GRC; due diligence; problem solving, dispute resolution and litigation.
Her management and legal experience is underpinned by a strong educational background in both legal and technical fields. She holds a Master of Private Laws from the Russian Private Law School under the office of the President of the Russian Federation (2001) and Master in Engineering from the Moscow Power Energy University (1998), Candidate of Juridical Sciences from the Russian State University of Trade and Economics affiliated with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation (2002).
Ekaterina is the author of a number of publications on law, compliance, risks, internal procedures and processes and management matters. She is an authorised tutor for ICA qualifications and certified ICA auditor for firms’ accreditation in accordance with ISO 37001 and ISO 19600. Indeed, she helped develop these standards as an ISO Global directory expert. Ekaterina is passionate about sharing her expertise and is a lecturer at leading universities in the Russian Federation, including the Masters programme for lawyers in Lomonosov Moscow State University.
