Professional Membership (MICA)  

This is an individual form of membership that carries with it the professional designation of Member of the International Compliance Association (MICA).


Professional membership can be achieved through two routes:


  • Examination Route
  • Experienced Practitioner Route.


Examination Route


This route is available to persons who:


  • Complete successfully a recognised programme of study; and
  • Provide references attesting to good character and personal integrity; and
  • Undertake to abide by the Code of Ethics and the Continuing Professional Development requirements of the Association.


The list of recognised programmes of study includes all ICA Diploma programmes. A full list can be found on the under ‘Courses and Diplomas.’

Experienced Practitioner Route


Professional membership of the ICA is available to senior compliance, anti money laundering and financial crime prevention professionals who:


  • Possess 10 years practical experience at a senior level in an appropriate discipline
  • Currently are employed, at a senior level, within a relevant field
  • Can provide evidence of competence at a senior level by providing a body of existing work for review(e.g. articles, conference papers, books, projects, published reports, etc.)
  • Provide references attesting to good character and personal integrity
  • Satisfy an ICA panel by way of an interview as to standing, seniority and competence.


You should be interested in membership of the International Compliance Association if you are engaged in the provision of financial services or professional advice in any of the following areas:


Banking, Trust and Company Administration, Investment Management, Financial Services Regulation, Compliance, Anti Money Laundering, Law, Accountancy, Insurance & Law Enforcement, Government International Agencies.
