Recertification

ICA certifications and qualifications are highly regarded statements of professional competence. However, as with any educational experience, they represent a level of competence at a point in time. In the world of regulatory and financial crime compliance in particular, the fast pace of change necessitates that you keep your knowledge up to date and skills continuously sharpened.

Both regulators and employers seek reassurance that individuals performing these crucial roles not only understand the core principles and practices but also continue to use that knowledge in the face of emergent developments.

ICA recertification provides that reassurance.

How does it work?

Once you have completed your ICA certification or qualification, you can voluntarily commit to a three year cycle of continuous professional development (CPD) which refreshes and updates your learning and provides external verification that you remain at the cutting edge of your discipline.

The cycle works as follows:

Year one - you complete 35 hours of CPD including 20 hours specifically relating to your technical discipline. This is logged with ICA through our Member CPD Centre and a certificate of CPD completion will be issued to confirm your learning to a third party.

Year two – the cycle is repeated as above.

Year three – you complete 35 hours of CPD but 20 hours are provided by way of a specific ICA refresher programme (six hours of which are provided face-to-face or via virtual classroom). You then complete an online assessment.

This three year cycle results in a formal recertification. For ICA Members, the first and second year resources are included as part of your membership package.* The ICA CPD Centre provides ample resources for online and face-to-face learning to meet your total CPD requirement, including the 20 hours technical content.

The refresher programme taken in your third year is facilitated by ICT, our training partner, and provides you with the latest insight and knowledge to keep your learning up to date. Details of fees for the refresher programmes will be available shortly.

Ensure that your knowledge and skills are cutting edge and demonstrate your commitment to professional excellence to both your employer and your regulator by subscribing to life long learning.
