ICA Contributes to Bahrain Education Debate, April 2008
The ICA was proud to be invited to be part of the Bahrain British Business Council Education delegation whose inaugural meeting was held in Bahrain recently. Co-chaired by Sir Roger Tomkys Arab British Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Khaled Al Zayani, Chairman of Alzayani Investments, the meeting was opened by Sheik Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive, Economic Development Board.

Economic diversification and a rapidly growing population are generating a requirement for skilled personnel and job creation. The government of Bahrain recognises the important part education plays in shaping its future. Extensive programmes on the development of secondary and higher education have been implemented to ensure Bahrain has a skilled and knowledgeable workforce that will enable the Kingdom to continue to compete in this fast changing landscape.

The ICA outlined its plans for the region which start with the introduction of its programmes later this year. All disciplines will be made available – Anti Money Laundering, Compliance and Financial Crime Prevention - which will meet the needs of practitioners working in and with the financial services sector, including those working within Islamic finance. The ICA contribution to the ongoing development of skills and knowledge in the region was welcomed.

As a global professional body with many years experience in the delivery of certificated professional qualifications, the ICA is well positioned to contribute to the debate. For more information on the Bahrain British Business Council or the ICA programmes that are being delivered in Bahrain.
